Are there recalls on your vehicle that you don't know about? You can find out here

Most folks don't know it but you can actually take a short cut to finding out if there is a recall that is outstanding on your motor vehicle. And it's from CarFax.

Saab, who is facing severe financial troubles right now, has started giving its VIN-specific recall data to Carfax, joining 29 other manufacturers who already are doing it. What does it mean for you?

If you own an Acura, Honda, Mercedes, Oldsmobile, Saab, Volvo, or any of the 30 different brands that CarFax tracks, you just click, fill in your VIN number, click again and you know what recalls haven't been done on your vehicle. It's that fast. It's that easy. And it's free.

Great idea, CarFax guys. Finally, people don't need to wonder, wish, or hope for the right answer when they hear about a recall. Just go to http://www.carfax.com/cfm/recall_page.cfm and find out.

It kind of makes you wonder how come the manufacturers don't put this data up on their own web sites in the first place. Maybe that'd be a little too much truth in advertising for them?

And after you find out about that recall, if your dealer doesn't take care of you, we can. Getting rid of lemons is what we do. Everyday. For over 25 years.
